The Oxjam Bee

Oxjam Beeston

Music Festival

What is Oxjam?

Oxjam is the UK's largest music festival, taking place over the whole month of October. It's made up of hundreds of events happening all around the country, all organised by volunteers. Some of these events are "Takeovers", i.e. multi-venue events which take place over a town or city for a day.

What we do in Beeston?

Beeston, a thriving community on the outskirts of Nottingham, has been hosting an Oxjam Takeover since 2011, and it has been getting bigger and bigger ever since, becoming an iconic event for our town.

In the last three years, Oxjam Beeston has been consistently ranking among the UK's top three Oxjam fundraisers, raising over £17,000 in 2015 and £14,000 in 2016.

What is it for?

We are fundraising for Oxfam, a global charity committed to ending poverty worldwide through emergency response, development work and campaigning for change.

In 2015, 3.9 million people have been reached by health promotion activities, 400,000 have benefited from support to improve their crops, goods or services and 1.4 million from improved sanitation facilities.
