Oxjam Beeston 2017
Oxjam Beeston is pleased to announce that this year’s Oxjam Beeston Music Festival has raised £22,000 for OXFAM! This smashes our own record (set in 2015) and is the biggest grossing of all the Oxjam Festivals in the UK.
Oxjam Beeston 2017 has been phenomenally successful primarily due to the huge community support behind the event. We'd like to thank everyone who has participated in this year's festival - you have helped make a real difference!
Our VOLUNTEERS - Oxjam Beeston relies on a core team of dedicated volunteers who coordinate the event throughout the year plus over 50 volunteers on the Takeover day itself. Its a mammoth effort which is very addictive!!! Come and join us next year!
Our SPONSORS - Star Inn (Headline Sponsor), University of Nottingham, Mixed Reality Lab,, NET, CP Walker, Foster Industrial, Breeze Magazine, PN Design, Cllr Kate Foale, Beeston Folk Club - thanks to everyone who provided invaluable sponsorship for Oxjam 2017.
Our ARTISTS who have performed across our five events this year (over 130 of them so too many to list!). Oxjam is all about celebrating local music and Beeston has been enriched by the creativity, skill and talent of all our Oxjam musicians across many different genres!
Our VENUES - allow music to takeover Beeston! Thanks to Middle Street Resource Centre, Star Inn, Bartons, Beeston Library, Pottle of Blues, Greenhood, Rye Cafe Bar, Bean, Hop Pole, Crown Inn, White Lion Bar & Kitchen, Rudyards, Malt Shovel, The Berliner, Totally Tapped, Greyhound, Beeston Methodist Church (Chilwell Rd), Beeston Parish Church and Royal British Legion.
Our SOUND AND LIGHTING ENGINEERS who have provided their time and equipment for Oxjam. Without the efforts of these people, Oxjam simply wouldn't happen and certainly not to the professional standard on offer! Thanks to:

Our PHOTOGRAPHERS - in particular Christopher Frost and 'Touch of Frost Photography'.
AND FINALLY, most importantly YOU!!! Thanks to everyone who has attended Oxjam events and donated during 2017. We hope you enjoyed it :-)
So, a massive thank-you to you all. We have been congratulated by Oxfam GB’s national Director of Fundraising, Tim Hunter. Oxfam has told us what that kind of money can do to counter poverty around the globe. For example, it could provide safe water in an emergency for 22,000 people; or support 11 communities in Nepal with an irrigation system so they can grow enough food to eat, pay bills, and even help the whole extended family. As we say, ‘local music - global impact’!
We had a ball putting on all our events - we hope you had a great time too. See you next year (maybe!)
