WHAT IS OXJAM?
Oxjam is the UK's largest music festival, taking place over the whole month of October. It's made up of hundreds of events happening all around the country, all organised by volunteers. Some of these events are "Takeovers", i.e. multi-venue events which take place over a town or city for a day.
What we do in Beeston?
Beeston, a thriving community on the outskirts of Nottingham, has been hosting an annual Oxjam Takeover since 2011, and it has been getting bigger and bigger ever since, becoming an iconic event for our town.
We've also run other smaller events over the years - Classical Concerts, Operatic evenings, Unplugged events, quizes, our very popular Oxjam Ceilidhs, and more recently House Concerts. For details of this year's festival events please go to our home page.
In the last five years, Oxjam Beeston has consistently ranked amongst the UK's top Oxjam fundraisers, raising the top amount of £27,116 in 2018, and over £100,000 since the event started.
What is it for?
We are fundraising for Oxfam, a global charity committed to ending poverty worldwide through emergency response, development work and campaigning for change.
